Our first league game since Bank Holiday Monday came away at Wallingford & Crowmarsh with the Sumas securing a strong 0-4 victory following an action packed game.
Sumas goals from Connor Richardson, Sean Moore, Harrison Bayley and Joe Allchurch guaranteed the points came back to Lowther Road.
The game began as a relatively even contest with both sides seeing plenty of the ball, with the blustery conditions affecting play for the majority of the first half.
Just 14 minutes into the game there were calls for a potential sending off as Wallingford’s goalkeeper collided with Ty Moorcroft outside of the area as he broke away on the attack. The referee’s verdict was a yellow card and a freekick to the Sumas.
The delivery of this freekick saw the ball fizz into the area and Sean Moore nearly connected perfectly with the ball as he sent it towards goal, but the goalkeeper saved the ball.
As the first half came to a close the referee pointed to the spot and awarded the Sumas a penalty. Connor Richardson stepped up and sent the keeper diving the opposite way as he put the Sumas ahead.

With the second-half underway, Wokingham came out looking determined to raise the standards.
Their work paid off, as in the 49th minute Sean Moore received the ball following an error from the home side and fired away our second goal of the afternoon.
In almost an identical challenge to that of the first half, Ty Moorcroft was taken down by the goalkeeper on the counter-attack and the referee had no choice but the send him for an early bath as he flashed the red card.
Following the challenge, there was a proud moment for the club as Aaron Peprah, who has risen through both the Allied and Development Squads, made his first team debut replacing
Connor Richardson.
We managed to flex our muscles yet again in the 60th minute as Harrison Bayley converted from inside the box to get our third goal and extend our impressive lead.
In the 66th minute, following a coming together between players, Wallingford’s number five was shown a straight red card for headbutting Ty Moorcroft, sending his side down to nine men.
As the game began to draw to a close, there was still a moment of magic left as Joe Allchurch struck a great ball and scored our fourth goal of the afternoon, securing the win and the Man of the Match award for himself.
